Our European Alps trek combines spectacular backpacking over two of Europe’s most famous routes with visits to charming villages in France, Switzerland and Italy. The trip culminates with a glacier hike up the Briethorn at 13,450 feet, followed by three days in Paris.
 Hike the Tour Mont Blanc
We’re off on a backpack of the Tour du Mont Blanc, circling Europe’s second highest peak at 15,863 feet. Our eight day trek over passes at nearly 10,000 feet, affords overnites in Alpine villages or high mountain huts. We’ll travel entirely on foot, without a van, and will re-supply periodically in quaint villages along the way. Words fail in the face of such beauty, as green forested valleys spill from the dramatic snow and ice fields of Mont Blanc. Hike the Haute Route to Zermatt
From Champex, Switzerland, we embark on the famous Haute Route east to Zermatt. For the next twelve days we’ll backpack at high elevations, stopping at mountain huts to exchange stories and spend nights with other European travelers. This is some of the Alps’ most incredible landscape, with flower filled meadows, glaciers, snowfields and forests. Climb the Breithorn
After a relaxing day in the charming ski village of Zermatt, exploring its many narrow streets and colorful shops, we’ll ride a gondola to 12,000 feet to join professional mountain guides. We then trek across glaciers to the summit of the Breithorn at 13,450 feet. A spectacular sight awaits, spanning the peaks of the Bernese Oberland to the Matterhorn and Mont Blanc beyond. Explore ParisA short train ride later, we arrive for three days of relaxation in one of Europe's most famous cities - Paris. From our small hotel a few blocks from the Seine River, we'll visit many historic sights, including Versailles, the River Seine, the Louvre and Notre Dame Cathedral. Come evening, we'll savor a variety of French cuisine. For students completing 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th grades, grouped according to age.
