Before you decide, though, we strongly suggest you select the longest program you can fit into your schedule. Our thirty-seven years of experience have proven that most participants wish they could have extended their stay with us.
Leadership Adventures
Conducted for the past thirty-three years, these classic adventures range from two to six weeks and offer varying degrees of challenge in a variety of outdoor environments. You don’t need prior experience for any program. If you do have experience, you’ll still find challenging offerings. Backcountry trips range from four to eight days, depending on the program.
International Adventures
These exciting adventures range from three to four weeks, offering varying degrees of challenge in a variety of exotic wilderness and outdoor environments around the globe. They are excellent choices for both beginners and experienced students who thrive on outdoor adventure and cultural immersion.
Leadership Expeditions
Ranging from two to four weeks in length, these wonderful expeditions offer a high degree of challenge and are conducted in only one or two environments with backcountry trips ranging from eight to thirteen days. They are open to both beginning and experienced students seeking extended wilderness travel with a thorough focus on outdoor skills.
Community Service Adventures
Obtain sixty to eighty hours of community service by working with native populations and assisting in environmental projects while adventuring in some of the most spectacular outdoor settings found in North America and abroad.
Age and Compatibility Groupings
Because we conduct most trips in multiple sections, you will always be grouped for age compatibility. Several of our programs offer special sections for students finishing the 7th and 8th grades. High school students are also grouped according to age. And we will not place a thirteen or fourteen-year-old in a group of sixteen and seventeen-year-olds just to fill a group.
Family Adventures
Our Family/Parent adventures provide an excellent opportunity for moms and dads to experience a sampling of Wilderness Ventures' activities. Join us before, during, or after you son's or daughter's adventure. Children thirteen and older are welcome.
