Clay is an upbeat, eager and enthusiastic, bright, feisty kid who is mature beyond her years. She has strong opinions, always has a lot to say and often doesn’t stop to look and listen before she speaks. Her experience with WV helped reinforce to her the importance of being a good listener, being open-minded to the ideas of others, the importance of being a good follower and team player, and what goes into being a good leader. She learned a lot about dealing with physical and mental challenges, the fruits of perseverance, and the great feeling of accomplishment when you succeed. Our adventures are not tours, but rather combinations of carefully planned
activities in a wide range of wilderness and outdoor environments that are
located in specific geographical regions. We spend the entire summer living in
the outdoors. Between our activity destinations, we travel short distances in new,
uncrowded passenger vans. Our routes and campsites find us traveling through
places of historic, cultural, or scenic interest, providing us with a clear sense of
place and an appreciation of each region's unique characteristics.
On programs ranging from 14 days to 6 weeks, our participants engage in
multi-activity wilderness and outdoor adventures, including backpacking,
whitewater rafting, whitewater kayaking, sea kayaking, rock climbing, canoeing,
inflatable kayaking, mountaineering, fly fishing, snorkeling, SCUBA diving,
sailing, surfing, and mountain biking. All of our adventures provide imaginative
and unforgettable journeys into the backcountry in some of the most beautiful
outdoor and wilderness areas of national parks and forests in North America and
abroad, or along bicycle routes around these stunning environments.
