In 1978, our catalog cover remained the same but our programs began to evolve. With two large groups of twenty-four students and six leaders on our Northwest Expedition, we began offering a third trip group for returning students in the Rocky Mountains, which featured our first climb of the Grand Teton. Little did we know that over two thousand three hundred more students would climb the Grand with us in subsequent years.

Tom Woodhouse with the red pack would eventually lead our
Northwest trip for ten years before becoming our first Staff Coordinator. The tree stump still remains on the beach and has been a favorite photo stop of our groups for many years.
